Bill Brady Says He Won’t Try To Replace Johnson

While it’s unclear who will take Tim Johnson’s place as the Republican nominee in the 13th Congressional District for the fall, at least one well known Republican says he won’t be in the mix.  Bloomington state Senator Bill Brady says he was encouraged by many, but says he believes the best interests of Illinois are better served if he remains focused on the challenges facing the state.     Brady narrowly lost a bid for Governor to Pat Quinn in 2010.

Johnson won his primary last month.  But he says he will leave at the end of his current term. He cited family obligations.  Republican County Chairmen in the district will choose the party’s nominee.
