She Wore A Wire For FBI, Brought Down A Governor

Hospital executive Pamela Davis kicked off the investigation that brought down an Illinois governor when she agreed to wear a wire for the FBI in 2003.

On Wednesday, Davis said she’s glad Rod Blagojevich is going to prison, although she feels sorry for his family. She says she holds him responsible for dragging her and her hospital through “the sludge” of his corrupt administration.

Davis is CEO of Edward Hospital in Naperville. She was the first to blow the whistle on alleged kickbacks involving a state board.  Davis wore a wire during conversations with people involved in the alleged shakedown to help the FBI gather evidence. The
investigation five years later led to Blagojevich’s arrest.

The FBI has said her help was priceless.  The former governor reports to prison Thursday.
