Central Illinois Elections Results

There will be new faces on the District 186 School Board.

The current Board President lost a bid for another term.  Mike Zimmers topped Susan White in Subdistrict 4, winning by nearly 900 votes and almost doubling White’s total.

Chuck Flamini and Lisa Funderburg were also elected.

The Subdistrict 5 race between Donna Moore and Katherine Eastvold was tied when vote counting was done.  Late absentee ballots that can still be counted could decide the outcome – otherwise a lottery would be used to break the tie.  You can find links to vote tallies below…

In Rochester’s school district, Amy Reynolds, Todd Goebel and William Yattoni won.

In Riverton, the four school board winners included Ginger Payne, Leigh Ann Hughes, Stacy McTague and Pam Cuffle.

Ball Chatham’s school board saw the top four vote getters Susan Worley, Brandon Maddox, Linda Carter and Lisa Weitzel.

Decatur Schools are welcoming four new members to the Board:  Barry Buttz, Alida Graham, Fred Spannaus and T.J. Jackson Jr.

In the race for Springfield Park Board, Gray Noll, Robin Schmidt and Grant Hammer won.

On the Decatur City Council, incumbents Pat McDaniel, Jerry Dawson and Julie Moore Wolfe all won a second term.

Chatham’s Village President Tom Gray held on for a narrow reelection.

Barbara Stamer won for mayor of Auburn, defeating longtime incumbent Joe Powell.

In Jacksonville, voters turned back the idea of a ward based system for electing school board members.  55 percent of voters rejected the proposed change.

Auburn voters gave the school district approval to increase the tax levy to pay down debt.

A referendum to raise property taxes in Logan County easily passed.  The proceeds will go towards ambulance services.

In Christian County, a sales tax  increase to help pay for schools was approved.
