Chicago musician Eric Noden channels generations of blues masters with the resonator of his metal body guitar.

After decades of studying and playing their works, Noden says he’s finally gotten comfortable writing his own songs in a genre that transports the listener back to Depression-era America.

Noden and harmonica player Joe Filisko bring their latest album of roots tunes to Springfield following a soul food buffet at RealCuisine Cafe.

Peter Gray spoke with Noden on Illinois Edition about using their sound to honor the past… and pairing it Sunday evening with an equally rich repast.
