Families In Poverty Struggle Through Government Cutbacks

voicesPoverty in Illinois has gone up during the recent recession… and that has impacted society’s most vulnerable.  At a time when many need assistance, government is cutting back.
Larry Joseph is Director of Fiscal Policy for the advocacy group Voices For Illinois Children.  He told WUIS’ Sean Crawford that Illinois has made big strides toward improving lives of families,  but in recent years, that progress is being threatened.  He says poverty is a fact of life for more people… and more children…
