Public Works Dir. Mahoney On Roads: “Invest Now Or Pay Later”

CtySealNew5Years of talk about how to adequately fund the repair and maintenance of Springfield streets and sidewalks could culminate in a vote by city aldermen to raise taxes and fees.

Public Works Director Mark Mahoney is urging the City Council to fully fund his nearly $87 million plan.  Mahoney tells Peter Gray that starting to pay that bill now will prevent higher infrastructure spending down the road:
