WUIS’ Karl Scroggin exposes us to a little known and seldom heard musical instrument. Karl interviews Dr. Phillip Serna of Valparaiso University about his passion for the viola da gamba and the music of the past, which is now enjoying a renaissance:
Karl, who does the interview, was one of my first guitar-player friends in Springfield. Karl now plays the viol de gamba, lute, recorder, and other medieval/renaissance instruments.
