State Farm Says No Plans To Move HQ

Bloomington_Il_State_Farm_Bldg1State Farm’s plans to add significant office space in Dallas, Atlanta and Phoenix have made some Illinois leaders curious about the company’s intentions. But the insurance firm says it has no plans to leave its Bloomington headquarters.
News reports last week on the company’s expansion in those cities included
speculation that it could be considering relocation. State Farm spokeswoman
Holly Anderson said this week that the company isn’t moving. State Farm employs 15,000 people in Bloomington.  Anderson wouldn’t say whether the company is hiring new employees in the three Sun Belt cities or moving workers from other locations.
The offices of both Sen. Dick Durbin and Gov. Pat Quinn said they had been in
touch with State Farm about the company’s plans and have been reassured.
