Art Spotlight: “Poetry Out Loud” Central Illinois 2013

POL LogoSpringfield Southeast High will again send a student to the statewide “Poetry Out Loud” recitation contest following a win last week against regional competitors.

Charday Crawford bested 19 performers from high schools in Springfield, Decatur, Morrisonville, Pawnee and Petersburg.  On March 8th she will face challengers from around the state.  Last year, Crawford was runner-up at the state level, so she’ll try once more in 2013 for a scholarship and a trip to the annual “Poetry Out Loud” contest in Washington, D.C.
