History Symposium At UIS Feb. 28-Mar. 2

slavery2013 marks the 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation.  But there is more to learning about emancipation than simply Abraham Lincoln.  A broader view of the subject will be on display during the upcoming Illinois History Symposium to be held back in Springfield this year… at UIS.
The Illinois State Historical Society organized the event that runs from February 28th through March 2nd.    The Society’s Executive Director William Furry and UIS History Department Chair Dr. Heather Bailey talked with WUIS about it…
