The Ball Chatham School district has issued a news release that identifies the subject of an ongoing investigation as former Superintendent Bob Gillum. Last month, the district announced an audit was underway of a former administrator’s travel and reimbursements. No details have been given as to the reason, except that there were irregularities.
The audit is over a five year period. Another statement from the district said legal counsel has recommended further investigation.
Gillum retired last year. His term as superintendent started in 2007.
In 2011, he was named Superintendent of the Year in Illinois by the Illinois Association of School Boards. Gillum told the State Journal-Register he will comment Friday.
