The Ball-Chatham School District is investigating a former administrator’s expenses, according to a statement released today. The individual’s name has not been released although the person is retired. The district indicated it has found insufficient documentation to support various expenditures.
The school board has ordered an independent audit of travel and reimbursements over the last several years. The board is anticipating a final report by February first. The statement says the board will determine whether further steps are warranted at that time. No other information is being released.

Statement from the Ball-Chatham Board of Education
An administrative review of District travel and reimbursement records upon the retirement of a former administrator has disclosed insufficient documentation to support various District expenditures. In order to assure that all payments were properly made and accounted for, the Board has directed its legal counsel to secure an independent audit of travel and reimbursement expenditures during the last several years. Counsel has engaged Sikich LLP to perform the audit,
and the Board anticipates a final report and recommendations by February 1. At that time, the Board will determine whether further steps are warranted. No additional information will be released at this time on the advice of counsel.
