Interview: Fighting The Flu At Central IL Hospitals

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says the flu virus that has spread across the country earlier than anticipated this season is to blame for 27 deaths in Illinois.

Health care providers in our area are implementing heightened control measures to keep the flu away from patients.

Memorial Health System has hospitals in Springfield, Lincoln and Taylorville. Memorial’s Chief Medial Officer Raj Govindaiah gives WUIS’ Peter Gray an update on what he’s seeing at his facilities and explains the need for limiting who can enter, as hospitals prep for what could be a prolonged flu season:
