Gay Marriage Debate In Illinois

Gay rights groups say it’s a matter of fairness.  But some, including several religious groups, remain opposed.
Greg Harris is a Chicago Democratic State Representative.  He sponsored the civil unions legislation that eventually became law in Illinois, granting same sex couples many of the same rights as those who are married. Harris plans to sponsor a gay marriage measure when the legislature reconvenes in January.  He explains why he feels this is the time to act….
