Military Museum Event Highlights Christmas For Soldiers

XmasFrontPictureAbout a century ago, US troops were deployed to Europe where they fought in World War I. Included were soldiers from Illinois. The Illinois State Military Museum, located in Springfield, is paying homage to those troops and soldiers tonight (Tuesday, December 18th.) There will be reenactors and a recreated trench for families to walk through as they consider what Christmas-time was like for those in the middle of battle. Rachel Otwell recently interviewed the museum’s director, Stewart Reeve, about the event, called “Christmas at the Front.” After that, she interviews Lincoln Land Community College Professor Chris McDonald who will give a presentation on a Christmas truce:
