Illinois College has announced the next president in the school’s long history. Dr. Barbara Farley will be the 14th president at the Jacksonville campus. A search committee made the announcement Monday. Farley comes to the liberal arts college from Augsburg College in Minneapolis, where she is vice president of Academic Affairs and Dean of the college. More than 60 candidates were in the search pool.
The search for a president began earlier this year when current President Axel Steuer announced he would retire. Steuer will leave the job in the spring at the end of the academic year.
