Springfield Art Exhibitions Feature History

A pair of art exhibitions in Springfield showcase history.  One focuses on historical places. The other on history within families. They both debuted over the weekend, Rachel Otwell brings us this story, starting with an exhibition at the Springfield Art Association called “It’s In the Genes”.

The other exhibition featured in this story is at the A. Lincoln National Museum of Surveying at 521 East Washington Street. It feature the watercolors of Kay Smith and is called “Holding Hands with History.” It will be on display until September 21st. Hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday though Saturday, or can be arranged by appointment.

“It’s in the Genes” displays at the Springfield Art Association’s gallery at 700 North Fourth Street and will run until August 4th. Hours are Monday thru Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
