Springfield Clinic already operates a medical office building near Memorial Medical Center, along First Street, that houses more than 100 specialists.
In a couple of years, a new four story facility will be connected to it. Randy Bryant, Springfield Clinic CEO, says along with more women’s health care, the new site will include a cancer center providing oncology and chemotherapy. He says the decision to expand again, just three years after the clinic’s major renovation along south 6th street, is a calculated move….
BRYANT “We consider it smart growth. We are not trying to do everything but we like to fill needs in the community, where there is a need. We have an aging population and there are more services being demanded in certain specialties as the population ages.”
Bryant says the new building will free up space at other locations. Memorial Health System will construct the new building on what is now an employee parking lot and lease it to the clinic. Bryant says additional hiring is likely once it opens.
