Lincoln Legacy Lecture At UIS Thursday Night

The 9th Annual Lincoln Legacy Lecture Series is Thursday October 13 on the campus of the University of Illinois Springfield.   Professor Lucas Morel is among the speakers.  He’ll discuss War and Remembrance in Lincoln’s Second Inaugural Address.  Morel spoke with WUIS’ Sean Crawford about the Address, which is far from Lincoln’s best known speeches.  Yet Morel calls it  “one of the most profound political statements in American history”:

Professor Lucas Morel will speak tonight at the 9th Annual Lincoln Legacy Lecture Series on the UIS campus.  The event is in the Brookens Auditorium beginning at 7 p-m. Dr. Michael Burlingame of UIS will also present “Lincoln As The Indispensable Man”.
