Holland Recommended to Remain Auditor General for Next Decade

Auditor General William Holland has served for two decades as the state’s highest auditing authority. It’s time for the General Assembly to consider who that position should go to next.

And Holland is on track for another ten-year term. Holland has seen his share of state corruption, including the arrests of two Governors. He says while the job’s not easy, it’s fulfilling.

HOLLAND: “The job has been a challenge for the past 20 years. And as I’ve told people frequently, it’s the rare job where you can go to work everyday and enjoy what you do and I go to work everyday and enjoy what I do. And I’d like to do it again.”

The Auditor General is responsible for conducting audits of state agencies as requested by the General Assembly. 24 people applied for the job.  A bipartisan legislative commission reviewed their applications, and has recommended Holland.

Funny how a non-professional (no auditng credentials or background) like Holland gets the appointment again. Remember he is a political hack of Phil Rock and was his Chief of Staff. It seems people forget these facts.

Well, after 20 years in the job, apparently some folks have let go of the politics and have seen that he can in fact do the job and they want him to keep doing it. Perhaps it’s time for you to forget them, too.
